Myra Hurst Allen, 75, of Eden, NC went to be with the Lord Monday December 4, 2017 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Thursday December 7, 2017 at Grace Fellowship at South Park with Dr. John Marks and Rev. Dave Huggins officiating. Burial will be in Greenview Cemetery.
The family will see friends 12:30 PM till 2:00 PM at the church before the service.
A native of Rockingham County she was the daughter of the late George Carl and Lora Price Hurst and had lived in Rockingham County most of her life. She was retired after 30 years of teaching elementary school in the Rockingham County and Moore County schools and was a member of the Rockingham County Retired School Personnel. A member of Grace Fellowship at South Park, she was a member of Circle #1 at the church. A member of Nimble Fingers Knitting Group that have been making sweaters for the Guidepost Kids since January 2007, she was a charter member of Alpha Delta Kappa chapter Gamma Upsilon teaching sorority. Myra was preceded in death by her husband: Harry Lee Allen and a special cousin: James Elwood King, Jr.
Survivors include cousins: Joe Sherwood King (Brenda), Reid Price King, (Bobbie), nieces: Robin Hundley (David), Martha Carter (Keith), Angela Blanks (David), nephews: Steve Allen, Gregory Allen, and Michael Allen (Cindi), family friend and like a brother: Eddie Larance Larry Paschal, family friends and like a sister: Hilda Schuetz, In-Laws: Willie Kelly, Geneva Allen, Henry and Dorothy Allen, special nieces and nephews and cousins: Rachel, Adam, Ali, Madi, Maci, Tyler, Katie, Price, James, Sarah, Cameron, Claire, Scotland, Sarah, Torrie, and Tyler.
