Nina May Reed Widmyer, age 84, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born February 7, 1933 in Pearre, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Oliver and Emma Artella Sheppard Vanorsdale.

She was a member of Wesleyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs. She attended public schools in Morgan County, WV. Nina had worked in the laundry department of Valley View Nursing Home. She enjoyed traveling and doing jigsaw puzzles.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald Eugene “Dumpy” Widmyer, at home, her children, David Neil Shives and Lois Lee Shade Armstrong, both of Berkeley Springs, one sister, Mary Robinson of Shepherdstown, WV, one brother, Donald Vanorsdale of Hancock, MD, four grandchildren, Kelly Shives, Dana Shives, Angela Truax and Samuel Shade, all of Berkeley Springs, six great grandchildren, one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Reed, two children, Linda Darlene Shives and Harry William Reed, five sisters, Rosalie Lanehart, Margaret E. Stotler, Janet G. Mills, Wanda Mellott and Emma Jean Bishop, one brother, Melvin “Jiggs” Vanorsdale, and one granddaughter, LeAnn Shade.

Services and interment in Orchard Ridge Church of God Cemetery will be private.
