Born November 16, 1937 in Pearre, Md., she was the daughter of the late Harry Oliver and Emma Artella Sheppard Vanorsdale.
She was a member of Prince Memorial Wesleyan Church in Little Orleans, Md.
She attended the Alpine School in Berkeley Springs and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose Chapter #1311, Berkeley Springs.
She liked reading, crafts and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul Elmore Bishop, at home; three daughters, Sharon Louise Housewright, Jefferson City, Tenn., Paula Jean Hart, Berkeley Springs and Sarah Elizabeth Steinbar, Frederick, Md.; three sisters, Margaret Elsie Stotler, Hancock, Nina May Widmyer, Berkeley Springs and Mary Lea Robinson, Martinsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Donald Oliver Vanorsdale, Hancock and Melvin Edward Vanorsdale, Warfordsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Bradley Alan Hutchinson, Maugansville, Md., Nichole Marie Hiett, Romney, W.Va. and Robert Warren Hart, Hagerstown, Md.; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosalea Virginia Divelbliss, Janet Geraldine Mills and Wanda Lou Mellott and one brother, Harry Ellsworth Vanorsdale.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 24 at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Darryl G. McClain officiating. Interment was at the Orchard Ridge Church of God Cemetery.
