Obituary
"Funeral services for Jasper Sentell Sr., of Jefferson, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Connors Goodwill United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.S. Waddleton officiating. The body will lie in state at Hayward Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Pope City Cemetery African-American, in Woodlawn. Mr. Sentell died January 3 in Jefferson, following a lengthy illness. A farmer, Mr. Sentell attended public schools in Harrison County, where he lived during his early life, before moving to Jefferson. Survivors include his widow Mrs. Lillie Smith Centell; four sons, Jasper Sentell Jr. and Hue Lee Sentell, both of Saginaw, Michigan, and Edward Lee Sentell, of Longview, and Jefferson Sentell, of Dallas; 11 daughters, Miss Ire Sentell, Mrs. Artie C. Parker and Mrs. Jewell {illegible}, all of Jefferson, Mrs. Addie Arthur and Mrs. Charlea Jones, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Mrs. Clarice Beckham, Mrs. Clara M. Thomas, Mrs. ReEvelyn Owens, Mrs. Mattie Williams, Miss Ruthie Sentell and Mrs. Florine Beaty, all of Dallas; one brother, Henry Sentell, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Johnson, of Chicago, Illinois, and Mrs. Willie Smith, of Hillsboro; 51 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren."

Burial arrangements were managed by William A. Palmer and the funeral directors with Hayward Funeral Home.
