Blanche Williams, 97, of Columbia, formerly of Carmi, Ill., passed away at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, at Columbia Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at First Baptist Church in Carmi, Ill. Friends may call at the church after 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Harrisburg.
She was born Sept. 13, 1909, in Herod, Ill., the daughter of Joseph G. and Elsie A. Crabb Partain. She married the Rev. Simon Otho Williams on June 15, 1932, and he preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1962. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Carmi, where she taught vacation Bible school for 55 consecutive years. She was a faithful minister's wife.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and George Herndon of Thomasville, Ga.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. James D. and Jo Clayton Williams of Weatherford, Texas; son-in-law Carmel "Merc" Mazzocco of Columbia; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters Josey Hicks of Eldorado, Ill., and Laverne Wallace of Tecumseh, Mich.; and brother Harold Partain of White House, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra S. Mazzocco, and a son, Larry Gene Williams.
Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
