Marian (Bernhoft) Morse, age 93, most recently of Eddy Village Green in Cohoes, was the daughter of Arthur and Gladys (Cole) Bernhoft. She grew up in Tompkins Cove, N.Y. and graduated from Stony Brook High School in 1942. She graduated from her parent's alma mater; Houghton College in 1946 and secured teaching jobs in Jasper, and North Syracuse, N.Y.

She received a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Syracuse University and spent the remainder of her working years as a Counselor, retiring in 1979 from Hyde Park's Roosevelt High School.

While skiing in the North Creek, N.Y. area, she met her future husband; J. "Bob" Robert Morse, and they were married on May 24th 1969. Following retirement, they moved to Johnsburg, N.Y.

Marian was active in counselor associations and was named Counselor of the Year by the New York State Guidance Association in 1979. She was also active in the AAUW and NYS Mental Health Association serving as its president in 1980 to 1981. After moving to Johnsburg, N.Y., she and her husband sold real estate for the Pearsall Company in the Adirondack area. She was involved in the United Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher for many years, and with the Our Town Theater Group and the Gore Organization of Frequent Skiers (GOOFS).

Marian was predeceased by her husband; Bob Morse, one stepdaughter; Cathlene Brady of Salisbury, Maryland, one sister; Marilyn Carlisle, one brother; Robert Bernhoft, and two sisters-in-law; Carol Bernhoft and Cathy Thompson.
