William I. Kakes, 80, of the village of Mishicot, died Wednesday evening, August 14, 1991, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Msgr. James Feely will officiate and burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Cooperstown.

He was born in the town of Mishicot September 8, 1910, son of the late Thomas and Anna Dushek Kakes. Married on November 22, 132, to Helen Engeldinger at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown. He was employed with Manitowoc Shipyards and then the Foremost Dairy in Mishicot until retiring.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Janice Kakes of Two Rivers; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Robert Rasmussen of the town of Mishicot; three grandchildren, Steven, Kevin and Douglas Kakes; five great grandchildren; seven brothers, Thomas Kakes of Antigo, Wis., Emil of rural Manitowoc, Edward of Mishicot, John of Francis Creek, Matthew and Raymond of Manitowoc and Alois of Two Rivers; three sisters, Mrs. Ann Fakundiny of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Marcella Linsmeyer of Whitelaw and Mrs. Lucille Engeldinger of Mishicot. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until 10 a.m. when we leave for the church. Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Friday.
