VIRGIL G. BAUM,
Age 80, of East Sparta, passed away Tues. morning in Wooster Sub Acute. Born in Waynesburg, a son of the late Elijah and Edna Motts Baum, Sr., he had been a life resident of this area.

Virgil was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired in 1990 from Diebold, Inc., after 23 years service, where he was a punch press operator.
He was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, the Independent Order of Foresters, McKinley Eagles, Isaac L. Kinney American Legion Post #244 in East Sparta, where he played the bugle for funerals for a number of years, and the A.A.R.P.

Preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Robert, Chester and Delbert Baum.
Survived by his wife, Louise Baum, with whom he would have celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 30th; one daughter, Brenda Berardelli, and one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Jean Baum, all of East Sparta; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Marie Little and Barbara and Donald Harper, all of Magnolia, Doris Farber, of Sandyville, and June Fiddler, of Canton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Elijah and Gayle Baum, Jr., of Frankenmuth, MI, Ray and Janice Baum, of Magnolia, and Glen Baum, of Mineral City; also five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Services will be conducted Sat. at 10 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Pastor John Maroni officiating.

Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park with Full Military Graveside Services. Friends may call Fri. from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Virgil's memory may be made to Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 40, Sandyville, OH 44671.
