"Lula Hines, 70, 101 Elm St., died suddenly Monday, Oct. 4, at Lake Cumberland Medical Center.

Born July 5, 1906, in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Augusta and Emma Simpson Higganbotham, both of whom preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Mitchell Hines, whom she married Oct. 24, 1924, in Ohio; two daughters, Myrtle Allen, Somerset, and Elizabeth Ann Weaver, Bronston; a sister, Hardy Lee Todd, Cincinnati, Ohio; several half-brothers and half-sisters; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was a retired employee of Somerset City Hospital and a member of First Christian Church.

She was president of the Stone Bible Class and active in the Quilting Group at First Christian Church.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 pm. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Somerset Undertaking Company, Inc., with Rev. L.D. Fisher and Rev. Robert W. Gates officiating.

Burial was in Vaught Cemetery."
