                         OBITUARY
Arnold—
Lychella D. Britton was born in Buchanan county, Mo., Oct. 20, 1849, died at Reserve, Kans., Jan. 7, 1929, aged 79 years, two months, 17 days. She was married to Wm. Arnold Sept. 9, 1865. They came to Kansas in 1868, settled 2½ miles south of White Cloud, have lived in Doniphan-Brown counties ever since, mostly in Brown county.
To this union were born 11 children, nine of whom are living: Mrs. Albert Jenkins, of Reserve, Kans.; John R. Arnold, of Carrier, Okla.; Mrs. Gene Runyan, of Kusa, Okla.; Alvie Arnold, of Reserve, Kans.; Mrs. Ira Plane, of Lincoln, Nebr.; Mrs. Roy Carney, of Pittsburg, Pa.; Mrs. T. Vaughn, of Falls City, Nebr.; Mrs. Carl Summers, of Fairbury, Nebr.; Mrs. J. J. Connor, of Casper, Wyo. Also 32 grand-children, 25 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Arnold was converted, united with the Methodist church at Mt. Zion about 45 years ago, under the ministry of Brother McCurdy. She was a fine christian woman, a hard worker, giving much of her time to her large family, but as far as she was able she served the church in every way. She was a good neighbor, kind, friendly to all, always ready to help in times of need or sickness. As a mother she was an example of all a christian mother could be, and example of faith, love, service. A truer devoted wife, companion could not be found. She was the real foundation center of her home. Of her, like Dorcas of old, it could truthfully be said, "She hath done what she could."
Besides the children mentioned above, she leaves her husband, Wm. Arnold, 84 years old, who is at home sick with the flu. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to him and the children. Services were held at the Methodist church at Reserve Jan. 10, conducted by Rev. M. G. McKenzie, and interment at the Mt. Zion cemetery.
