OBITUARY:
Brad L. Myers, 70, of Kendallville, passed away at 4:43 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at his home.

Born in Fort Wayne, on December 13, 1947, to the late Ralph and Viola (Foreman) Myers. He spent his formative years in New Haven, Metz, Angola, San Jose, Cal. and Decatur, graduating from Belmont High School in 1968. He graduated from Indiana College of Mortuary Science in 1970.

Brad was married to Karen Sue Noll in the St. Marks Methodist Church in Decatur, on May 26, 1968.

He served as a Funeral Director at many different funeral homes starting in 1968 when he served his internship. He served D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes for more than 24 years, Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, Portland for 10 years and retiring from Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on June 1, 2011 after eight years. While he lived in Portland he served on the Jay County Sheriff Reserve and also served as the Jay County Coroner.

Brad was a Master Mason, a member of the York Rite, Marching drill team, Scottish Rite and the Mizpah Shrine Temple. He was an active member of the Churubusco American Legion Post #157. He was a former member of the Portland Lions Club and the Churubusco Lions Club and served as president on the board of directors for the Lions Eye Bank. He was also a member of the Indiana Funeral Directors Association.

During his time serving in the various organizations he received several awards and recognition including Foster Park Lion of the year, International Presidents Award, District Governors Award, Melvin Jones Fellow, Indiana State Lions Award, Zone Chairman's Award, Kentucky Colonel Award and was an Isaac Ball Fellow.

Brad is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen Myers; two sons, Brian (Les Russell) Myers and Timothy (Terri) Myers; a daughter, Dawn (Greg) Dykstra; six grandchildren, Douglas Bier, David Bier, Lucas Gerskie, Alyssa Dykstra, Aowyn Myers and Ashlynn Myers.

Brad is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas Myers.

Services will take place at Churubusco United Methodist Church on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 10:00 AM. with calling one hour prior to the service

Family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00p.m.

Burial taking place at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
