A modern department store that for a time challenged F.R. Lazarus and Company (located directly across High Street). Renamed Morehouse-Martens in 1908, the store became a favorite of Columbus' carriage trade society and was known for its highline merchandise. Morehouse-Martens also operated the first professionally staffed Beauty Salon in Columbus.
