Unfortunately there was no obituary for this beloved brother of my mom, Betty Brown Wyrick. He was the oldest and most protective of her, and looked after her as older brothers do. I remember my mom fondly talking of him, and how when she simply could not afford her high school class ring he dug deep into his pockets and bought it for her. He had also served in the Army as a medic, and you would never see him without a pair of overalls on and wearing his signature flat cap. He died at his sister's house, Mary Jane St. Aubin, from Myoloma after a brief stay in the hospital. His services were held at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Wednesday, May 14, 1997. Rest in Peace Uncle Ernie.
