Sharon was born to Doris Maxine (Smith) and Frank Hunt. She married Gary Dean Walker on March 11, 1961 in Peoria, Illinois. He survives.

Also surviving are her children, James D Walker, Jeff D. Walker, and Jayme (Mark) Chiaravalle; and six grandchildren, Brennan (Kacey), Dakota, Andrew, Kahla, Jayden, Nick and grandchild, Sawyer; sister, Donna (Len) Ashline; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; and siblings including Richard Hunt, Beverly Christenson, David Hunt, Diane (Bill) Sparks.

Sharon started out working for Vonachen's restaurant as a waitress. Then she moved on to work at the Bergner's shoe department. After almost a decade of working outside the home she was able to stay home and raise her children.

In the early years the whole family participated in amateur flat track motorcycle racing. The three children were the racers, dad played full time mechanic and mom as usual did everything else. That included being the cheerleader, photographer, packer of food, clothes, first aid kit, and anything and everything needed to take their weekend adventure to whatever small town in the Midwest they would be racing. Sharon's pride in her children's on the track accomplishments, which were many--they had over 1000 trophies--was tempered by her constant fear that one of her babies was going to get seriously hurt.

Once the kids grew out of racing, Sharon joined a bowling team and developed a great friendship with all the ladies on her team and in the league. At the same time, Gary and Sharon as a couple were avid boaters and belonged to the Wharf Harbor Yacht Club, where Sharon even held the position of Commodore.

However, she was the most passionate about working in the yard. Specifically, she loved to work in her flower garden.

Sharon was the survivor of both breast and colon cancer, and in later years survived multiple heart attacks and a stroke
