He was a carpenter, and a Justice of the Peace. Also was a former proprietor of the Irving Hotel built by his father William D. McClure in the middle 1800's. Unable to locate a headstone or an exact date of death. He is listed in the 1910 US census as living with his sister Julia Harkey.
