PRINCETON – Roy Delano Tilley, 80 of Princeton went to be with his beloved Lord on Monday, November 19, 2018. Roy retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years of service and from the coal mines after 20 years. He was a faithful and active member of Rich Creek Baptist Church in Spanishburg.

Born May 20, 1938 at McComas, he was the son of the late Joseph Daniel Tilley (1887-Deceased) and Hazel Blankenship-Tilley (1902-Deceased). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Cebert Veron Tilley (1920-1989), Pansy M. Tilley-Eller (1921-2006), Joseph Tilley (Deceased), Robert Tilley (Deceased), Odean Tilley (Deceased), Myrtle Tilley-Mincey (Deceased), James Franklin Tilley (1929-2003), Lloyd W. Tilley (Deceased), Opal "Jean" Tilley-Morehead (1933-2005), Alice Faye Tilley-Runion (1937-Deceased), and Charles "Ed" Tilley (1939-2012).

Those left to treasure their fond memories of him include his wife of 57 years, Betty Zane Morehead-Tilley; daughter, Tammi Tilley-Martin & husband Kent Martin; son, Barry Tilley & wife Anna Mae Tilley; grandchildren, Kyler and Kalissa; a brother, Lloyd W. Tilley & wife Jo Ann Tilley; a sister, Rachel "Sue" Tilley-Diegel; a devoted, tenderhearted niece, Gayle Jennings; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Calfee and Pastor Jamie Mattox officiating where military honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Private interment will follow at McClaugherty-Morehead Cemetery near Princeton.
