Born to Rev. Dr. Hampton Evans, Sr.and Joan A.Gerst. Called Hamp by his friends and affectionatley called Junior by his family, he was the oldest of four children. He was educated in the Chester Public School District and graduated from Chester High School. He furthered his education in the United States Army. Hamp was an avid sports fan and was very active in baseball, basket ball and bowling. Hamp leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Rev. Dr.Hampton Evans, Sr; mother, Joan A.Gerst; five daughters, Sharish Gibes, Evette Lewis, Malinda and Marlise Carr and Se'Ayra Greene; two sisters, Yolanda Anderson and Elvera Evans; one brother, Anthony Evans; one grand-daughter, Amani Gibes; two sons-ion-law, Sean Gibes and Timothy Lewis; one brother-in-law, Danny Anderson; one sister-in-law, Karen Evans.
