RIPLEY - Homer O. Archer, 75, of Ripley, died Friday in Jackson General Hospital after a short illness.

He was the son of the late William and Winona Brown Archer; was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church at Ripley, Parkersburg Masonic Lodge No. 169, was a World War II veteran, and a retired teach, having served in that profession for 40 years.

Survivors include two brothers, John of New Manchester, and William H. of Clinton, O.; one sister Olive Houghton of Orange Park, Fla.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Vail Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Eaton officiating. Burial will be in Independent (Independence) Cemetery at Sandyville.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
