David LeRoy Marks Sr., 63, Maple Hill, formerly of Scranton, Kansas and Ft. Supply, Oklahoma, lost his battle with cancer on December 24, 2016. He was born March 4, 1953 in La Junta, Colorado.

David worked as a diesel mechanic several years for the Topeka Truck Plaza before moving to Oklahoma where he drove a delivery truck before illness forced his retirement.

He was the son of Ernest Sanders and Gertrude Opal Clark Marks who preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, David (Bernie) Marks, Jr., Osage City and Michael (Angela) Buchanan, Grand Rapids, MI; six siblings: Sandra (Bill) Johnson, Independence, MO, Linda Cowan, Osage City, Tim (Lenora) Marks, Loraine, OH, Jody (Keith) Hiegert, Maple Hill, Lori (Mike) Zeller, Paxico and Jeff (Valerie) Marks, Maple Hill; grandchildren: Michael Skeans, Nathan Hammond and Charlie Buchanan, and many nieces and nephews. David also had a large “adopted” family.

There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
