Sandra Lee Marks-Johnson

Sandra Lee Marks-Johnson passed away Thursday, August 22nd, 2019 at her home in Independence, Missouri. She was born May 16, 1946 in La Junta, Colorado, the eldest of seven children of Ernest and Gertrude (Clark) Marks.
Sandy attended Fowler and La Junta, CO school's graduating in 1964. She married Dwayne E. Johnson in 1964. They later divorced. She was preceded in death by her companion, William Evans, Jr. in 2017, her parents, and her brother, David Marks, Sr.
Survivors include her children, Michelle Kelly, Independence, MO; Michael (Brenda) Johnson, Mayetta, KS; Matthew (Selena) Johnson, Mary Esther, Florida; and her siblings, Linda Cowan, Osage City, KS; Timothy (Lenora Bates) Marks, Livingston, TX; Jody (Keith) Hiegert, Maple Hill, KS; Lori (Mike) Zeller, Paxico, KS and Jeff (Val) Marks, Maple Hill, KS; and 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Sandy's work life included working as the Wabaunsee County, KS, Sheriff's Dispatcher for several years. She was also the manager of the Eskridge Senior Center for several years and was a United States Postal Service Rural Carrier Associate for Eskridge and later Silver Lake, KS until her retirement in 2010.
Sandy enjoyed crocheting, reading and was an avid animal lover.
