Ernest was the son of Henry Clay DeVall and Emmaline Ogden DeVall. He was born in Burlingame, KS and moved as a young boy with his family to southwest corner of Missouri. He lived for many years in the Branson, MO area. He married Myrtle A. Irwin and had two daughters with her. Betty Lee, who was born in November 1919, died in 1931. I believe her untimely death was due to appendicitis. His second daughter Charlotte June was born in February 1931. Unfortunately, Ernest and Myrtle divorced. In the 1940s, Ernest moved to Los Angeles. He was very close to my Uncle Charles who also lived in the LA area. The two remained very close until Ernest's death. On April 9, 1950, Ernest married his first love from whom he had been parted when they were both young, Talitha Ellen (Welchel) Moomaw. Ernest told me that his family had objected to her because she was older than he. They found each other again through his sisters, Bessie and Velma, who both ran into her in Oklahoma City, let Ernest know that she was a widow and "available." Finally, a true love match that lasted until Talitha's death on Dec. 31, 1968. A search through Ancestry.com gave us this much information on Ernest and Talitha. He is buried next to his beloved Talitha.
