Fabious Maximus Lingo was born in Washington County, Iowa, August 14th, 1845 and died at his home in Wilson, Kansas, February 13th, 1925, aged 79 years, 5 months and 29 days. Mr Lingo grew to manhood in Washington County, Iowa, and it was here that he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Anne Thrap, February 14th, 1867. To this union 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl, were born. Mr Lingo with his family moved to Kansas in 1877 and settled on a homestead 4 miles north of Natoma, Kansas, where he lived until 1890 when he moved to Wilson and lived until the time of his death. Here he followed the occupation of a carpenter until 1909 when he retired and became the caretaker of the I.O.O.F. Hall and the Methodist church which he held until his last illness which began in August 1922. He was converted at the age of 21, united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and for more than 58 years, has lived a consistent Christian life. His illness covered a period of three years, 14 months of the time he was confined to his bed yet through it all he was a patient sufferer. ... He leaves to mourn his departure the wife, 5 children, George R., James W., Charles S., all of Wilson, Kan., Mrs. K. E. Vennette of Atchison, Kan., and Cassius M. of Salina, Kan., and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services conducted from the M. E. Church, Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2:30.
