Gertrude Mary Bouchee, the third of Henry and Josephine (Hochstrasser) Bouchee’s eight children, was born in Livingston, MT on February 6, 1934. She died on June 7, 2019 in Chula Vista, CA.

She attended Livingston schools and graduated in 1952 from Park County High School. Gertrude enlisted in the Women’s Army Corp that same year. She served in Yokohama, Japan and during her two-year tour of duty she was trained as a Clerk Typist. She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the UN Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Gertrude attained the rank of Sgt. and upon her discharge at Ft. Ord, California she secured a clerk typist position at Convair Aeronautics in San Diego. She worked at Convair and its successor General Dynamics for thirty-three years.

Although Gertrude never married, she was very devoted to her parents, her brothers and sisters and their children. At age 85 she was the oldest Bouchee survivor in her lineage.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Leon, Jim, and Henry; sister, Lois (Ray) Kooren, all of her aunts and uncles and nieces, Sylvia Kooren Fullerton and Marcella Bouchee Olson.
She is survived by her sisters, Anita (Roger) Schamaun of Los Alamos, NM, Barbara (Les) Williams of Livingston, MT, brother, Larry (Pam ) Bouchee of Bullhead City, AZ; sister-in-law, Pat Bouchee of Rio Rancho, NM; nephews, Ted Kooren of Denver, CO, Bob Kooren of Preston, ID, Dan (Barbara) Bouchee of Colorado Springs, CO, Stan Williams of Livingston; nieces, Kim and Lori Bouchee if Billings, Raeanne Kooren of Denver, CO, Coene Schamaun and Tammy (Ric) Hinckley of Los Alamos, NM, Renee (TJ) Cummins of Austin, TX, Milee (Mike) Morrison of Livingston, Christine (Shawn) Eggar of Wolf Point, MT, Janet (Wes) Weber of Golden, CO and many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, 10:00 A.M. at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home (118 North 3rd Street) with Fr. Leo McDowell as Celebrant, interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
