John F. Williams, son of J. Locke and Nancy (McCracken) Williams was born 22 July 1861 near North English, IA. He died 2 January 1911 He was married to Ida B. Kelley 29 August 1886. To this union were born four boys and four girls. Two sons, Lock and Ross, are married and all the others live at home.

Other survivors are his mother, two brothers, M.D. of Norton Kansas, George R. of Chesterton, Indiana and six sisters: Amanda Gilchrist of Macksville, Kansas; Eva Mahannah, Belle O'Brien, Ida Ferris and Victoria Williams all of North English; and Ellen Mullen of Iowa City. A brother, Columbus, and a sister, Salina, are deceased. He was a member of Modern Woodmen Lodge #461. Burial was in the North English Cemetery.
