Mary Jane, daughter of Millard Fillmore & Emma Jemima Allison Berry , was born August 12, 1890. She worked as a secretary for several years before marrying Thurston J. Holloway Jr. on December 31, 1916. The handwritten note on the envelope that contained their marriage license:
"Dearest Husband,
Remember the golden chain that binds our love together and if we should not meet again, Let's not forget each other." Mary

Mary Jane Holloway was active in church activities at Oakland Christian Church and First Christian Church in Columbia, Missouri. She was President of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, the oldest world-wide organization in continuous existence for the protection of the home and the abolition of the liquor and opium traffic.
