Bessie L. McDonald age 96 passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Plains Regional Medical Center following an illness. Bessie was born September 20, 1923 in Culbertson, Nebraska to the home of Charles and Nora (Goss) Stewart. She grew up in Culbertson, attended Trenton High School where she graduated in 1941.

Bessie was active in the Trenton community. She owned and operated Trenton Drug and Sporting Goods, and B & J in Adams, NE. She served as chairperson of the Business Professional Women, and worked at Lakeview Nursing Home in Firth, NE.

Bessie enjoyed fishing, boating, visiting the casinos, and attending her grandchildren sporting events. Bessie loved her grandchildren. She made her home in Fort Sumner in 2010 to be near her daughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Howard Williams and second husband Joy McDonald, she is also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters and her daughter in law Lenine Williams.

Survivors include two children, a daughter Jo Griego and her husband Nick of Fort Sumner, a son Jerry Williams of Lincoln, NE, and one sister Ethel Beebe of Trenton, NE, six grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service with burial at Culbertson Cemetery, Culbertson, Nebraska will be held at a later date.
