Paul D. Hayes of Essex, son of the late James Leslie "Less" and Flossie Marie Hunt Hayes, was born in Dudley, Missouri on November 2, 1940, passed away at the Cypress Point Skilled Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri on November 12, 2019, at the age of 79 years and 10 days.

Paul had lived in the Essex area most of his life. He was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church in Esssex and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force.

Surviving are one brother and wife, Delbert & Delia Hayes of Dexter; two sisters, Wanda Hill of Dexter, Imogene Miller of Arnold; one sister-in-law, Maxine Hayes of Dexter; eleven nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Billy R. Hayes and one half brother, Jim Hayes.

Friends may gather on Friday, November 15, 2019 after 12:15 p.m., and a procession to the cemetery will begin at 12:45 p.m. for graveside services at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with the Rev. Del Ray Hayes of Senatobia, Mississippi officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
