Huggins, Clarice M., age 96, of New Martinsville, WV, died Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the New Martinsville Care & Rehab Center.

She was born April 26, 1915 in Wetzel County, WV, the daughter of the late Jasper Newton and Rebecca West Blake.

Clarice was a retired employee at the former Corning Glass in Paden City, WV; a member of the First Christian Church in New Martinsville; the Women's Democratic Club and the Senior Citizen Center.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Huggins in 1999; six sisters, Maye Gorby, Stella Parsons, Mary Blake, Josephine Blake, Edna McIntire and Grace Estep; and a brother, Johnny Blake.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Bob) Rogers of New Martinsville and Juanita (John) Parsons of California; a son, Charles (Betty) Huggins of Proctor, WV; a sister, Ethel Thomas of New Martinsville; 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, a great great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, corner of Locust and Maple Avenue, New Martinsville, with Rev. Dr. Victor L. Hunter officiating.

Interment in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
