He was the widower of the late Mida King Childers and the son of the late Zephren and Melvie Gabbard Childers. He was also preceded in death by five brothers; Sam, Jack, Archie, Eskil, Tommy; three sisters, Loni, Tina, Olena. He is survived by three sons, James Bill Childers, Paul Childers, Joe Childers; five daughters, Bessie McIntosh, Mary Childers, Irene Fairfield, Barb Shlaud, Cindy Charlton; two brothers, Oscar Childers, Porter Childers; host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation, Tuesday, December 3, 5-8PM at the funeral home. Funeral, Wednesday, December 4, 11AM with Walter Turner officiating at the Wide Creek Community Church, Beattyville.
