John H. Ellis, age 88, born in Castleberry, AL and a resident of Bay Minette, AL died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Mobile Infirmary. He retired from Reichhold Chemical after 33 years as a production superintendent and plant manager. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years and was a Deacon Emeritus. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during Korea. He is survived by his wife, Annie Jean Cannon Ellis of Bay Minette, AL; on son, Larry C. (Jane) Ellis of Stockton, AL; one sister, Julia Williams of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, John Howard Ellis, Cora Ellis, Lauren Roberts and Shelby Robbins and one great grandson, Wyatt Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jessie Weaver Ellis; a daughter, Kathy Ellis; a son, Danny Ellis; daughter-in-law, Renee Ellis; four brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Chip Starnes officiating. Burial will follow at Bay Minette Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, December 16, 2019 from 12:30 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Rodney Clay, Dan McKinley, Greg Williams, Calvin Weaver, Chuck Smith and Jim Ellis. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1628 Bay Minette, AL 36507 or to the Parkinson's Foundation Gulf Coast Chapter, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131. My Uncle John and Aunt Annie Jean were married on Sept 1,1955 and had just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
