Evelyn O'Della Vetterkind was born on April 1, 1937 in Withee, WI, to William E. and Viola G. "Vi" (Collier) Vetterkind. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Withee received her education in the Withee area, and graduated in the last class from Withee High School in 1955. Evelyn then attended Taylor County Teachers College in Medford, WI for one year. She taught at Butler School, in Clark County, before her marriage to James P. Seliskar on April 11, 1959 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, WI. Besides being a homemaker and raising her family, Evelyn also worked at Weinbrenner Shoes, in Marshfield, and did domestic work for local businesses and friends for many years.
Evelyn was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, where she was very active in church activities and taught Catechism, was a former member of the K.S.K.J. Lodge in Willard, in past years was involved with Greenwood Dairy Days where she was in charge of organizing the parade, was one of the founding members of the "GAB" Club (Greenwood Athletic Boosters), and was a former Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts leader.
She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and friends, enjoyed wildlife, especially eagles and deer, making Christmas wreaths, loved the Packers and high school sports.
Evelyn is survived by her son: Randall (Lori) Seliskar of Loyal, WI; her daughter: Yvonne Minor of Woodbury, MN; 3 grandchildren: Chris, Katie, and Alex; 6 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
