Ethel Mattingly, 81, widow of Henry Wesley Mattingly, died June 15, 2020 at her residence in Lexington, KY. Born July 17, 1938 in Gravel Switch, KY, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rhoda Wheeler Benningfield. Mrs. Mattingly had been employed as a deli clerk at Save-A-Lot. Survivors include four children, Charles H. Mattingly and spouse Sheri Mattingly, Wayne Mattingly, Melinda M. Barnett and spouse David Barnett, and Kelli Mattingly; eight grandchildren, Shay Johnston and spouse Brady Johnston, Shelby Hawkins, Ashley Mattingly, Lexie Mattingly, Mark Leonard, Hannah Mattingly, Trey Barnett, and Wesley Barnett; two great grandchildren, Spencer Johnston, and Parker Johnston; one sister, Norma Smothers; and many cousins. Funeral services will be held 1:30 pm Fri., June 19 at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thurs. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 2312 Alexandria Dr., Lexington, KY 40504.
