Rhoda A. Benningfield, 81, East Main Street, Lebanon, died Jan. 8, 1992, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
Benningfield was a daughter of the late James and Minnie Mullins Wheeler and the former owner of Benningfield Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was preceded in death by four sons, Robert, Earl, Gobel and James Benningfield.

Survivors include: two sons, Gowdy Benningfield and Emmett Benningfield of Lebanon; three daughters, Margaret Ford of Lebanon, Norma Smothers of Danville and Ethel Mattingly of Lexington; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lee Wheeler; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Hafley and Mrs. Aline Wardlow of Gravel Switch; and several other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Jan. 10, 1992, at Campbell Funeral Home with burial in Haysville Cemetery in Gravel Switch. Rev. Otis C. Skaggs officiated.

Pallbearers were Larry, Buck, Tommy Ray and Bobby Benningfield, Michael Ford, Todd Smothers, Church Mattingly and Wayne Mattingly.

Campbell Funeral Home, Lebanon, was in charge of the arrangements.
