William Wilson Taylor was the youngest son of William Taylor (c.1790s-1848) and Sarah "Sallie" McLendon (c.1805-1865). He served in the Confederate Army, in Co. K, 43rd NC Regiment. He was wounded during the war, and suffered all his life from the chest wound. William married Sophronia Ellen Beachum (1848-1935, a daughter of Isaiah Beachum & Phereba O'Neal) on Feb. 16, 1871, and they had ten children: Sarah Ellen Taylor (1872-1958, m. Robert Lee Anderson Kiker), James Wilson Taylor (1873-1958, m. Lou Vinnie Thomas), John David Taylor (1875-1964, m. Mary Jane Lougenia Kiker), Culia Ann Taylor (1877-1967, m. William Alexander Kiker), Stephen Alexander Taylor (1878-1962), Benjamin Franklin Taylor (1881-1967, m. Magnolia Walters), Mary Jane "Mamie" Taylor (1882-1921, m. Darling Faxton High), Ida Alberta Taylor (1886-1968, m. Stacy Marvin Braswell), Thomas Taylor (1888-1890) and Samuel Jones Monroe Taylor (1889-1965, m. Dallie Virginia Mills Helms).
