Carl Andersson was born and lived his entire life in Snostorp, Sweden. Married Anna Johanna Eliasson in Snostorp in January of 1857 and they had 5 children: John (born about 1858), Ida (born about 1861), Sven Peter (born 1865), Emma Christina (born 1869), and Anton Bernardt (born 1872). As was the custom at the time, the children took the last name "Carlsson" (Carlson in the U.S.) from Carl's first name. John and Ida remained in Snostorp but Sven Peter, Emma Christina, and Anton Bernardt immigrated to the US in March of 1888.
