He was a veteran of World War II and Korea.

His father Stuart Bradford Marshall, Sr, died on November 13, 1956. His mother Florence Heaton Marshall died around February 17, 1967, in Washington, DC. Memorials have not yet been created as their place(s) of burial are unknown at present.
