Florence Janey Heaton was born on April 27, 1878, in Ishpeming, Marquette County, Michigan. She was the daughter of Dr Townsend and Emmeline Heaton.

Her older sister Cecilia Heaton was born on November 18, 1877, in Ishpeming, Michigan, and had died on March 8, 1878, Ishpeming.

Florence's father, Dr Townsend Heaton died on December 15, 1883, in Virginia. Surviving him was his widow, Mrs. Emmeline Heaton, and their daughter Florence.

Mrs. Emmeline Heaton remarried to Charles Carr Mercier. Both were living in Loudoun County, Virginia, and had applied for a marriage license in Baltimore, Maryland, which information was published in the January 20, 1878, edition of The Baltimore Sun, page 10.

Mr. Mercier died on July 13, 1903.

On April 30, 1907, Florence Janney Heaton and Stuart Bradford Marshall were married at St Thomas Episcopal Church, Washington, DC.

They had one son, Stuart Bradford Marshall, Jr., who was born on October 22, 1910, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.

Florence's mother, Mrs. Emmeline Mercier had died on April 19, 1910, in Washington, DC.

Mr. Stuart Marshall, Sr. worked as a chemist.

He died on November 13, 1956, possibly in Washington, DC.

Mrs. Florence Janney Heaton Marshall died circa February 15, 1967, possibly in Washington, DC. A notice of her death was listed under W.W. Chambers Company, who was in charge of arrangements, published in The Washington Post, February 16, 1967, page B6. Confirmation needed, but probably cremated.

She was survived by her son, Stuart Bradford Marshall, Jr.
