Aged 81 Years, 3 Months
Mrs. Lena Green, 81, of West Calhoun avenue, lifetime resident of the community, died yesterday at the residence. Mrs. Green was born May 30, 1863, near the city, and had always resided here. She was the last of five daughters of George and Elizabeth Scherring [sic], early settlers in Sangamon county.
Surviving are a daughter, MRs. Mary Schleyhahn; a step-daughter, Mrs. Margaret Bietsch; two sons, Robert A. and Fred Green, all of city; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the residence. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
