Mrs. Eva Barbara Hoff, widow of Adam Hoff, and a resident of Springfield for more than eighty-five years, died at 2 a.m. yesterday at her residence, North Grand avenue west, following a long illness. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Hoff born Feb. 18, 1853, in Pennsylvania, came to Springfield with her parents, George and Elizabeth Schnirring, as a child. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Elmer Erickson, Mrs. Charles Hoffman, and Mrs. Emma Lowry, all of city; Mrs. Flora Smith, Chicago; and Mrs. Alice Workman, New Berlin; two sons, Otto and William Ihlenfeldt, both of city; sister, Mrs. Lena Green, city; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Interment in Oak Ridge cemetery.
