ATWOOD BROWN
East Marion- Atwood Brown, son of the late B Franklin and Hannah Brown, died at his home in this village on Saturday the 17th from a complication of diseases, after suffering for several months. He was born in Port Jefferson, but spent the greater part of his life in this village, where he has made many warm friends because of the kindly thought and acts in their behalf. During the many months of suffering he exhibited a very cheerful and patient spirit. He is survived by his wife Mrs Mary Mack Brown, nine children, Mrs H C Haldane of West Barrington RI; Herbert Brown and Mrs Leona Leight of Greenport; Mrs G Lewis Tuthill of Orient; Daniel, Wayland and Halsey Brown, Mrs William S Adams and Mrs Albert Puritan, all of East Marion; and fifteen grandchildren; a sister Mrs Sadie E Kirk of Brooklyn and a brother Seymour Brown of Port Jefferson.

The funeral was held at his late home on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by his pastor the Rev J D Field of the Baptist church. The burial took place in Marion cemetery. The many friends express their sympathy for this family in their bereavement.
