Miriam Durfee, 72, of Scottsbluff, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002 at her
home.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at 2 p.m.
at Salem Congregational Church with Rev. Dale Brown officiating. A
private family internment will be held. Cremation was held at Sunset
Memorial Park Crematory.

Miriam was born on July 7, 1930 to John and Amelia (Gettman) Bauer.

She attended Haig School and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in
1948.

She worked at the Dodge Dealership in Scottsbluff for 25 years and
at the Ford Dealership in Douglas, Wyo. for 20 years.

She was a Past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 8 in Wyoming, lifetime
member of the Nebraska PTA. Miriam was active in the Wyoming American
Legion Boys and Girls State and American Legion High School Rodeo.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Clyde
Schaneman of Scottsbluff, and Karen and Jim Herigstad of Minot, N.D.;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Leona and Maynard Morgan, and Helen and Lee
Keller all of Gering; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Elnora
Bauer, Richard and Anita Bauer, and Robert and Marva Bauer all of Gering;
sister-in-law, Esther Bauer of Gering; six grandchildren; two great
grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond Bauer and
Wilbert Bauer and sister Elaine Harshman.
