Margaret grew up on the family farm in southwest Fresno, and graduated from Fresno High School in 1937. She later worked for several years in the business office of W.T. Grant department store in downtown Fresno.
In 1947, while on a double date, Margaret met Edward Hagopian, and they were married six months later, at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church. Most of their married life was spent living in Madera, where Edward was a farmer and Margaret was a homemaker. They welcome daughter Carol to the family in 1948 followed by sons Philip (1950) and Rodney (1955).
Margaret was a member of the Madera Emblem Club and served as their pianist. One of her great joys was playing the piano, and she also enjoyed flower gardening and cooking. Margaret also made wonderful Armenian food.
Her main concern was always for her family, and she remained devoted to it throughout her life. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family members, and she was a dedicated grandmother to her two grandsons, whom she dearly loved.

Margaret, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on July 31, 2010 at the age of 91, following a brief illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, and her daughter, and her parents. She is survived by two sons, and their wives, a son-in-law, two grandsons, and two great-grandsons. She is also survived by a sister, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Margaret was held at Jay Chapel in Madera on Friday, August 6, 2010.
The family requested that any donations be made to the donor's favorite charity or to the American Cancer Society.
