Alice Daly was the daughter of Laurence Daly and Honora Quinn; the granddaughter of Daniel Daly and Alice Flinn/Flynn. She was born in Ballymacmague, Dungarvan Parish, County Waterford.

Alice married John Spratt 11 Feb 1858 Cooleormick, Dungarvan Parish. The couple had William, Alice, Nora, Laurence, Margaret, and Catherine. All of the children were born in the district of Dungarvan, and baptized in Kilgobnet Parish, Co. Waterford. John died in 1875, and Alice immigrated to America in 1887 with her son William, settling in Yonkers, NY where her two daughters, and three siblings - Catherine Daly May, Mary Daly, and Owen (Eugene) Daly were also living.
She was the sister of Daniel, John, Patrick, Laurence, Catherine, Mary, and Owen.
