Mrs. Thelma Blackburn

Mrs. Thelma Spradling Blackburn, 65, of Canada. Ky., died Wednesday morning in Suburban Hospital, Louisville, Ky., following a lingering illness.
Born Dec. 11, 1908 at Hylton, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ransom Lee and Roxie Ann Francisco Spradling. She was a member of the Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired teacher and member of tho Kentucky Teachers Association.
Her husband, Paris Blackburn and one son preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Chester Ray Blackburn, and Roger Lee Blackburn, both of Louisville, Billy J. Blackburn, of Canada, and Sgt. Richard Clay Blackburn, stationed at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Ina Gay Thacker, of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Clair Nell Maynard, of Williamson, and Mrs. Flo Ann Ables and Mrs. Sarah Jane Hasting, both of Louisville; four brothers, Lenox Spradling and Thmar Spradling, both of Mariba, Ky., Otis Spradling, of Arlington, Va., and Calvin Spradling, of Dayton; five sisters Mrs. Naomi Damron and Mrs. Artie Lee McDaniels, both of Mt. Sterling, Ky., Mrs. Frances Louise Johnson, of Franklin, Ohio, and Mrs. Geraldine Silzox and Mrs. Sarah Corrine Rhule, both of Miamisburg, Ohio, 25 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are incomplete however, the arrangements will be made under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.
The hody has been taken to the funeral home where friends may call after 3 p.m. (CDT) today. Special services will be held at 7 o'clock (CDT) tonight. The body will then be taken at 10 a.m. (CDT) Friday to the Big Primitive Baptist Church where friends may call. Special services will be held at the church at 7 o'clock Friday night.
