Phyllis was born July 28, 1936 in York and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Neiman) Bupp of Mount Wolf.
Phyllis spent a lifelong career in Cosmetology. After graduating from Empire Beauty School in York she established the Phyllis Lauer Beauty Shop in Mount Wolf; later, she became the manager and course work teacher for young students at the Empire Beauty School in downtown York. She loved teaching and working with the students immensely, retiring in 1995. In retirement, Phyllis and her family spent most of the years at their Ocean City Maryland home, boating, fishing, crabbing and enjoying the beach. She was a former member of Quickels Lutheran Church.
Phyllis is survived by her two sons, Rick Lauer and Michael Lauer and wife Kelly, both from York; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Donnelly and husband Nick, and Rebecca Anderson and husband Michael; 3 great grandchild and her sister, Delores Wintermyer of New Oxford and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Wilderson, Romaine Heilman and Pauline Stambaugh.
Services and burial for Phyllis will be private. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
