Donald Dean Kelley, 78, of Kouts passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He was born February 7, 1942 in Oblong, Illinois to Alva & Thelma (Reynolds) Kelley and served proudly with the U. S. Army. Donald made his career as a kiln operator with PowderTech in Valparaiso for 34 years retiring in 2000. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hebron. For the past 40 years he enjoyed tracing the family history with his wife, Joyce. Tending to the antics of the family cats, fishing in the Kankakee River, and playing pool at the Valparaiso Eagles and Moose were also favorite pastimes. On September 7, 1965 he married Joyce Fleming who survives along with their children, Kristine (Kerry) Zabel of Powdersville, South Carolina, Michael Kelley of Merrillville, and brothers, Ed (Kathy) Pasley of Valparaiso & William Kelley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alva Kelley & Thelma Pasley, infant sister, Darlene Pasley, and brothers, John, Eugene, James & Larry Kelley.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family interment will take place in Kouts.
