LESTER EUGENE KELLEY "GENE" Valparaiso, Indiana Age 75, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He was born October 5, 1931 in Oblong, Illinois, the son of Alva and Thelma Reynolds Kelley. "Gene" was a partner of Kelley Brothers Concrete for over 30 years and was a Korean Conflict Army Veteran. Gene was a man of simple tastes, a family man, who was fiercely independent with a strong work ethic. Surviving is a son, Timothy (Marianne) Kelley of Valparaiso; a daughter, Linda (William) Tucker of Valparaiso; 5 grandchildren: Nicholas and Kristen Kelley and William II, Michael and Jeffrey Tucker; and 4 surviving brothers, Jim (Jeannie) Kelley, Donald (Joyce) Kelley, Larry Kelley and Bill Kelley. His parents and a brother, John preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, 3-7 p.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the United Way or the American Lung Association.
