She was a native of Raeford, North Carolina and a resident of Reidsville for the majority of her life.
Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, Sara Ida Locklear and Bizzell Locklear; her beloved husband, Larry Brewer; her children: Larry Odell Locklear, Alfred Brewer, and Teresa Lopez; her siblings: Helen, Alfred, Lucille, Ernest, and Irvin.
She is survived by her daughters: Barbara Machuca (Ramon), Sarah Brewer, Inell Brewer, Tammy Rubio, and Christina Diaz (Angel); her sons, James Ray Brewer and Glenice Lee Brewer (Hope); thirty grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; her sisters: Derise Jacobs, Betty Joyce Locklear, and Maryfaye Locklear; her brother, James Locklear; her son-in-law, Louis Lopez; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral services will be held in the chapel of Johnson & Sons, 115 Holderby Street with Rev. Dallas Hunt presiding.
Her remains are in the care of Johnson & Sons.
