1841-The index to estates of Sumner Co., Tn. lists the name of David Alsup in the year of 1841, file number 1216. His will was probated on Mar 23, 1842 and he left all of his extate to his wife Martha. He names as his children one son and four daughters, and the will can be found in the Sumner Co. court records, file number 350, executor Moses H. Herring. Martha Edith Grant Alsup, widow of David, continued to live on the family farm in Dist. 15 of Sumner Co., next to her son Jeremiah as confirmed by the census return of 1850. Located in some loose records in the courthouse, is a lawsuit involving martha and one of her sons, Daniel. The case was numbered 967, dated 1850, but no final decision was give. Martha exidently died soon after this as she is not found in any records after 1850.
1842-David died in Sumner Co. leaving a will dated March 23, 1842. Proved June 1842.

land deed of 50 aces for $5 - land in Sumner Co. Witnessed = Taylor G.

1843-Jeremiah Allsup & A.B. Clendenny? of Sumner Co., Tn. sold 50
acres to Yancy Turner of Macon Co.
1844-Sept. 17, Jeremiah Alsup and James C. Motly sold 38 acres to Yancy Turner
in Sumner County.
1849-Aug. 18, Frederick D. Alsup bought 169 acres from James Grainger in Sumner
County, Tn. corner of Yancy Turner's land of Macon Co., Tn. Witnessed by
Oliver T. Butler and E.H.C. Sarver.
1857-son Jeremiah died.
1861-Feb 2, Jeremiah Alsup sold to Thomas Carter 10 acres (which was his
entire share & interest of his father David's estate.
1865-May 23, Jeremiah Alsup leased 60 acres to H.M. Head for exploration for
oil & mineral rights, etc. him to get 1/8 part.
1880-Aug 23, 1880, dau. Sarah died and buried in Siloam Cem. in Macon Co., Tn.

David was living in Wythe Co., Va. with his parents and some of his brothers and sisters as evidenced by his name on several county petitions. David married Martha in Virginia about 1800 and their oldest son Jerry was born in this state in 1804. By 1813 he was living in Sumner Co., Tenn. as he is listed as bondsman for the marriage of John Allsupt and Prudence Henderson (it has not been determined which John this was) on 6 Oct 1813. Jeremiah (Jerry) son of David and Martha married Lucy Brown in Sumner Co., Tn on 11/20/1823. David's will was probated in Sumner Co., on Mar 23, 1842. He left all to his wife Martha and mentioned his son and 4 daughters by name. In 1837 David and son Jerry both signed a Sumner Co. petition locating them in the Tramell Creek section of the county. Jerry and Lucy had 9 children. In 1860 Jerry and wife, Lucy, and some of younger children were still living in Sumner Co., and their son John H. with wife Prissilla and 3 month old son were living next door. Jerry and his family had moved to Allen Co., Ky. by 1830 and then were back in Sumner Co., Tn. by 1840 Eadey Alsup Tracy moved to Marion Co., Ill. and her nephew David was living with them as well as being listed on the 1850 Sumner Co., Tn. census. Jesse R., another son of Jerry and Lucy also moved to Marion Co., Ill. and was living there in 1880 with wife Elizabeth and adopted children Harry and Martha Nash. William Joseph also a son of Jerry and Lucy moved to this same area by 1880 and had wife Amanda and children John A., Robert and Etta.
