Benedict Francis Brenner, 99, passed away on March 31, 2021 at the Ness County Hospital in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on March 23, 1922, 6 miles north of Bazine, on the family farm, to William and Rose (Sweeney) Brenner. He married Margaret Klug on February 25, 1957. She passed away on October 2, 2015. He was a retired farmer and rancher.

Ben was a 1939 graduate of Bazine High School and attended K-State for 2 years, then returned to farming with his father north of Bazine. In 1951, he purchased the Triple Bar Ranch with his father and brother-in-law. He then purchased the ranch in 1974 and lived there until 2014. He has been a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus since 1944; he had served on the Golden Belt Board of Directors for 30 years and had been invited to Washington D.C. to be on a board representing farmers but declined the invitation. He was given a Soil Conservation Award in 1968. Playing pinochle and traveling were past times he enjoyed.

Survivors include 5 sons, Ronald Brenner (Kristi Gerstner) of Ness City, Darrell (Barbara) Brenner of Ness City, Gary (Marya) Brenner of Beeler, Douglas Brenner of Oakley, Randall (Kathy) Brenner of Ness City; 3 daughters, Rhonda (Glenn) Stramel of Hays, Carolyn (Claude) Durler, Diane (Cedric) Drewes both of Dodge City; a brother, Harold (Leann) Brenner of Midland, TX; a sister, Mildred Kuhlman of Oakley; 19 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 more great-grandchild coming in September. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; sisters, Irene Antenen and Mary Brenner; brothers, William Rush Brenner, Leo Brenner, Edward Brenner; and a grandson, Brian Allen Stramel.

Rosary and parish vigil will be on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at the Sacred Heart Church in Ness City at 5:30 P.M. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 5, 2021, 10:00 A.M., at the Sacred Heart Church, Ness City. Burial in the St. Mary's Cemetery, McCracken, at 2:00 P.M. Friends may call at Fitzgerald Funeral Home on Sunday, April 4, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the TMP - Marian High School, Cedar Village, Sacred Heart School and Church, or St. Theresa Catholic Church in Dighton.
